Advertiser access policy

Lawful companies deserve real distribution.

The American Record is open to advertisers in restricted, limited, and traditionally excluded categories when the business is legal, the creative is compliant, and the offer is honest.

Principle

Access without chaos.

Large ad platforms often block entire categories with blunt rules. The American Record reviews the actual company, offer, jurisdiction, and creative before making a placement decision.

What we believe

Lawful businesses deserve a fair path to reach adults who may want their products, services, ideas, or events.

How we decide

We review fit, legality, claims, audience, geography, disclosures, and whether the ad is truthful and clear.

Restricted and limited categories

Industries we will consider.

These categories are welcome to apply when the business is lawful, the audience is appropriate, and the advertising is properly presented.

Cannabis, hemp, CBD

Including THCA and related products where lawful, with age controls and compliant claims.

Crypto and fintech

Exchanges, wallets, DeFi, payments, trading tools, and financial products with clear risk language.

Wellness and longevity

Supplements, telehealth, peptides, clinics, diagnostics, and wellness services with substantiated claims.

Alcohol and nightlife

Bars, spirits, events, festivals, hospitality, and adult social venues with proper disclaimers.

Gaming and sweepstakes

Fantasy, gaming, sweepstakes, and gambling-adjacent offers where legally permitted.

Political and advocacy

Public issue campaigns, ballot measures, civic groups, and advocacy organizations with clear sponsor identity.

Adult-adjacent products

Tasteful, lawful products and services intended for adults, reviewed closely for placement fit.

Emerging categories

New markets that traditional platforms often restrict before they understand them.

Standards

Freedom of speech still needs standards.

We support lawful advertising access. We do not accept scams, deception, illegal activity, or reckless claims.

We do not accept

  • Fraud, scams, phishing, malware, or impersonation.
  • Illegal products, illegal services, or instructions for illegal activity.
  • Hate, harassment, incitement, or dehumanizing content.
  • False medical, financial, or guaranteed outcome claims.
  • Misleading pricing, bait and switch offers, or hidden terms.
  • Unsubstantiated health, investment, or performance promises.
  • Creative that ignores required age, risk, or legal disclaimers.
  • Ads that create a serious safety, legal, or editorial risk.
Review process

Submit once. We will review the details.

Advertisers in restricted or limited categories can request placement through the same reservation form. If extra review is needed, we may ask for substantiation, licenses, disclosures, or creative edits before approval.

Acceptance is case by case. The American Record may request changes, require proof, limit placement, or decline advertising at its discretion.
